Vuk Vuković (CROATIA) CEO at Oraclum Intelligence Systems

Vuk Vuković is the CEO and co-founder of Oraclum Intelligence Systems Ltd, a Cambridge-based company that uses the power of social networks, machine learning, and big data to predict election outcomes and uncover patterns of consumer behavior. In addition to his role at Oraclum he is completing a DPhil in Politics at the University of Oxford, Pembroke College. He holds a Master of Science degree from the London School of Economics, in the field of political economy.

Vuk’s research interest are primarily focused on corruption and how the logic of collective action and the logic of political power shape economic outcomes. In his PhD thesis he looks at local corruption in Croatian cities and municipalities and how the interaction of political power and rent-seeking firms enables politicians to stay in power for long periods of time. He also observes the effect of elite networks, the connections and interactions between politics and special interests, on the allocation of bailouts to US banks during the crisis, and on top executive compensation in the US and the UK.
